Heres what you need to do to prepare . . . Design Day is the kickoff event that builds excitement and energy for your project. Youll need one or two General Coordinators, who will be intimately involved with the project from start to finish. They will also be the main contacts with our office. A dynamic local leadership group should be recruited to head up fundraising, volunteers, public relations, childrens committee, donated and purchased materials, tools, food, childcare, and special needs. Youll need to select one or more potential sites before Design Day. Well give you a list of things youll want to consider, such as good visibility, ease of supervision, shade, and existing utilities. Well ask for a letter of intent and a retainer fee. We will then supply printed project guides that give you detailed instructions and helpful suggestions on how to proceed. Then well work with you to find the best time for us to visit your community.
