The
Story:
The Leathers family has come full circle with the construction of
the playground at Fall Creek Elementary School. Bob Leathers began
his community-built career by organizing a playground build at his
children’s elementary school in Ithaca in 1971. Since then, the firm
has worked on more than 1,600 projects throughout the world.
Marc Leathers, Bob’s son, has been working with the company
since he was a teenager. So it was a special moment in June 2000
when Marc had the opportunity to work on a playground build at his
daughter’s school. All of the employees of Leathers &
Associates volunteered at the project and were able to see what a
community build was like from an all-new perspective.
