The
Story:
Silver City has a grand scheme for their park that will
eventually include a playground, an amphitheater, a children’s
museum, a skateboard park, and a teen center.
The first phase of their project
(Spring 1999) completed their playground, which included special
features made with concrete, adobe, and stone. Graffiti artist
Alex “Man One” Poli worked with the teens to create graffiti
art.
Phase II (Spring 2000) saw the
creation of a huge amphitheater and preliminary walls for
restrooms, changing rooms, and a sound room for stage equipment.
Their
next venture will be a teen center and a children's museum.
