The
Story:
Treetops 2000 is an interactive, three-level observation tower
on the edge of a gorge at the local nature center. It features
educational exhibits and observational opportunities.
The
project was a collaboration between the Ithaca High School Class of
2000 with their parents and teachers; the staff of Leathers &
Associates; and environmental educators at the nature center.
Visitors can climb up a staircase or take a more adventurous route
to the top, using crawl tunnels between the platforms. Throughout
the structure are
educational exhibits.
