The Story:

Lubec, Maine

Lubec, Maine, is a small fishing town that prides itself on being the easternmost point in the United States. Lubec welcomed in the new millennium before anyone else in the country.

The community playground is located at an elementary school. The theme is a historic fishing village that includes ships and a replica of a famous local lighthouse. A strong art committee contributed many details, including a giant lobster in a lobster trap (pictured).
